ASL Technical is recruiting for a Bespoke Vehicle Configuration Specialist to support the delivery of highly customised vehicles, turning customer requirements into detailed specifications and actionable manufacturing information. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong attention to detail who enjoys working with technical data, vehicle specifications and multiple stakeholders. Applicants could come from automotive, manufacturing, technical administration, project coordination or other bespoke luxury product environments.
The Role
Working within a specialist Vehicle Configuration team, you will coordinate bespoke vehicle requirements from initial enquiry through to production and build. Key responsibilities include:
- Translating customer requirements into detailed vehicle specifications.
- Working closely with sales, engineering, purchasing, logistics, planning and production teams.
- Creating and maintaining service orders, parts information and configuration data.
- Managing configurable parts, supply routes and planning information within SAP.
- Supporting changes to vehicle Bills of Materials (BoM).
- Preparing build documentation, work packages and paint or modification strategies.
- Reviewing orders and specifications to ensure Right First Time delivery.
- Identifying risks, resolving issues and supporting change management.
- Supporting new vehicle programmes and becoming a configuration expert for nominated products.
- Developing templates and improving processes to increase efficiency and reduce lead times.
What We're Looking For
The team welcomes applicants from a range of backgrounds. You could have experience in automotive, manufacturing, technical administration, engineering or project coordination. Ideally, you will have:
- Excellent attention to detail and experience working accurately with data.
- The ability to understand and interpret technical drawings.
- Strong customer service and stakeholder communication skills.
- An interest in automotive manufacturing and vehicle technology.
- Experience using SAP would be highly desirable.
- Experience in vehicle specification, manufacturing or bespoke luxury products would be advantageous.
- Project coordination experience would be beneficial.
- Experience using automation tools, macros, Power Automate or AI to improve processes would be an advantage.
- Engineering or technical qualifications are welcomed but not essential where relevant practical experience can be demonstrated.
