Our client is a leading designer and maker of premium quality sofas and upholstery products. A vacancy has arisen for a Frame Assembly Operative to join their hardworking team in St Leonards on Sea, East Sussex.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience within a similar position, as well as experience of using a staple gun and relevant tools. You will also possess the ability to work under pressure whilst meeting deadlines, as well as ensuring products meet company quality standards.
As a Frame Assembly Operative you will be contributing and maintaining a smooth flow of production, ensuring that the correct product is delivered on time and in full to the correct quality standard.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualities:
- Demonstrable experience within a similar position
- Have previously used a staple gun and relevant tools
- Ability to work flexibly and under pressure, meeting deadlines
- Be able to communicate clearly and courteously with others at all times and at all levels
- Actively acknowledge others’ efforts, ideas, contribution and commitment

- Proactive and confident to put forward new ideas and improvements to current working practices

Your duties as a Frame Assembly Operative would be:
- Ensuring that work/frames are made to correct specification
- Working with your team leader/supervisor and colleagues to meet the daily/weekly requirements/targets of the production schedule
- Ensuring correct use of staple guns and tools
- Helping achieve desired results by following instructions and complying with working practices that are in place
- Being alert and reporting below standard products and raw materials to your team leader/supervisor
- Checking all work for defects i.e. flaws/items cut incorrectly as well as your own workmanship
- Helping identify any training requirements you may need to enable you to work to a better standard
- Attending and participating in team meetings when needed
- Helping fellow team members with lifting
- Ensuring that you adhere to Health and Safety standards and requirements including the Shadow Boards
- Assisting with keeping the working area neat and tidy and participating in the CANDO activity for the department/surrounding area
- Familiarising yourself with company policies, rules, and ensuring that these are adhered to
- Undertaking other duties and helping out in other areas/departments according to the needs of the business
- Reporting problems or areas of concern to team leader/supervisor and work with them to help resolve the issues
- Discussing and agreeing personal performance and development with your team leader/supervisor as part of regular appraisal reviews
- Following/complying with management instructions
- Maintaining the use of personal protective equipment at all times
- Asking for help if unsure with anything new or old
- Being responsible for your own shadow board, making sure all tools are in their right place at the end of the shift
- Ensuring that all gangways and fire exits are kept clear at all times
- Keeping working areas clean and tidy and empty bins when required
Salary: £12.71 per hour
Hours: Monday – Thursday, 8am – 5pm, Friday 7am – 12pm, 39 hours per week
Temp – Perm
Location: St Leonards, East Sussex
