Our client is a leading global provider of high-quality vacuum equipment, with a goal of enabling the innovation, creation and advancement of a vast array of products. A vacancy has arisen for a CNC Setter/Operator to join their hardworking and dedicated team in St Leonards on Sea, East Sussex.
The ideal candidate will possess demonstrable experience as a CNC Setter/Operator, have a strong understanding of programming, extensive knowledge of tooling, inspection techniques and machine shop, and be able to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
As a CNC Setter/Operator, you will ensure that the CNC machines are running efficiently and to full capability. You will constantly evaluate the quality assurance of all company processes and products, recommending and implementing improvements whilst working to the quality system.
Skills and Qualities- Demonstrable experience as a CNC Setter/Operator
- Strong understanding of programming (including driven tools)
- Extensive knowledge of tooling, inspection techniques and machine shop best practice are essential
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
- Good knowledge of industrial machining techniques
- Precision and attention to detail
- Be able to work with minimal supervision and to follow instructions
- Knowledge of and adherence to relevant health and safety standards
- Understanding of Fanuc control systems would be an advantage
- Writing and editing CNC programs
- Setting CNC turning machines (including twin spindle CNC lathes)
- Working with CAM software
- Using measuring equipment for quality control checks
