About the Role
We're excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and enthusiastic Netball Coach to join our growing Sport Academies team at Askham Bryan College.
Askham Bryan College is seeking a Netball Coach to lead and develop our Netball Academy programme. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a thriving Sport Academy environment, supporting talented students to achieve excellence both on and off the court.
Working closely with students, teaching staff and external partners, you will play a key role in delivering a high-quality netball programme that enhances sporting performance, promotes academic success and supports personal development. The successful candidate will help create a positive, inclusive and ambitious sporting environment, whilst contributing to the continued growth of sport across the College.
Key Responsibilities
As the Netball Coach, you will lead the planning and delivery of the College Netball Academy programme, creating an environment that supports students in achieving their sporting, academic and personal potential.
You will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging coaching sessions, preparing teams for training and competitive fixtures, monitoring individual player development and fostering a culture of excellence, professionalism and sportsmanship.
The role will involve mentoring student-athletes, supporting their wellbeing and progression, and helping them balance the demands of education and sport.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with curriculum, pastoral and support teams to create a positive, inclusive and ambitious sporting environment. They will contribute to the continued growth of the Netball Academy, support fixtures and competition and help students balance sporting commitments with their academic studies.
We are looking for an individual with a recognised Netball coaching qualification and experience of coaching young athletes within a club, school, college or academy setting. Knowledge of player development pathways, safeguarding expectations will be essential.

Start Date: The College operates 2 starter/induction days per month to welcome and onboard new members. These are usually the first Monday and third Wednesday of each month (unless there is a bank holiday).
