Overview
We’re looking for a hands-on, proactive Grounds Technician to help maintain and enhance the beautiful outdoor spaces across Askham Bryan College’s estate. If you love working outdoors and take pride in keeping environments safe, tidy and welcoming—this could be the perfect fit.
Responsibilities
- You’ll be part of a friendly team responsible for maintaining gardens, lawns, sports areas, footpaths, fences, and more. From planting and pruning to snow clearance and machinery upkeep, no two days are the same.
- You’ll also support wider college activities, including events and working alongside learners.
What we’re looking for
- You’ll need experience in grounds or estates maintenance, a good understanding of health & safety, and confidence using tools and machinery.
- A qualification in horticulture or grounds care is ideal, and a full UK driving licence is essential.
- You’ll be working outdoors in all seasons, so a flexible, can-do attitude is key. Some evening and weekend work may be required, along with occasional travel to other campuses.
