Askham Bryan College is seeking an organised, proactive and detail-driven Exams Co-Ordinator to coordinate all aspects of examinations across the College. This is a key role ensuring all internal and external exams are delivered smoothly, securely and in full compliance with JCQ regulations, including support for HE examinations.
The Role
You will be co‑ordinating for the end‑to‑end examination process, working with staff, students, parents and awarding organisations to ensure the highest standards of accuracy, compliance and learner experience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the full examination lifecycle: entries, timetables, seating plans, secure materials, exam days, results and certificates
- Ensuring compliance with JCQ and awarding body regulations
- Supporting and training invigilators, including annual updates
- Supporting access arrangements in collaboration with SEN teams
- Liaising with awarding organisations and JCQ inspectors
- Handling post‑results services and appeals
- Updating examination policies and contingency planning
- Coordinating exam activity across five centres
What We’re Looking For
- GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work accurately under pressure
- Good working knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) and data systems
- Knowledge of examination procedures, awarding bodies and invigilation processes
- Level 2 qualification or higher
- Experience cross‑referencing external and internal data

Start Date: The College operates 2 starter/induction days per month to welcome and onboard new members. These are usually the first Monday and third Wednesday of each month (unless there is a bank holiday).
