About the role:
Askham Bryan College is a specialist land-based college based across the North of England. At the heart of Askham Bryan College is the Wildlife and Conservation Park. A small but diverse animal collection situated in a beautiful arboretum, a growing visitor attraction in York.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Conservation Education Manager with a passion for wildlife and education to join our Wildlife Park Team here at our York campus. This role will be working 37 hours per week on a permanent contract.
The successful candidate will develop, design and deliver education packages and events on behalf of Askham Bryan Wildlife and Conservation Park to a diverse audience. They will be passionate about developing the Wildlife Park educational packages and have the drive to work to income-based targets. The candidate will also have responsibilities within promoting conservation education-based content on social media and work with marketing companies to promote our brand, as well as develop interpretation and be able to evaluate all zoological educational based activities in line zoo licensing guidelines. The candidate will be engaging with our community and working closely with the Animal Science, Conservation and Associated Enterprises manager and Deputy, as well as other Askham Bryan departments to deliver the education, conservation and research outcomes for the Wildlife Park and associated targets for the college.
We would like to hear from applicants with a positive approach to achieving outcomes and with experience in management, you will lead a small team of dedicated conservation education staff, in a fast-paced environment. You will have excellent communication skills, the ability to make connections, drive and enthusiasm for zoo education activities and be available to work weekends, holidays and evenings as per the business needs.

Start Date: The College operates 2 starter/induction days per month to welcome and onboard new members. These are usually the first Monday and third Wednesday of each month (unless there is a bank holiday).
