Contract Type: Part Time – 29.6 hours per week, permanent (Thursday – Sunday), pro‑rata salary

Salary: SP17 £24,767 per annum, pro‑rata

About the role: We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Kennel and Companion animal keeper to join our Animal Sciences and Conservation Department at our York campus. The candidate will be responsible for the daily care, welfare and presentation of the Kennels and Companion facilities, supporting high standards of animal husbandry, conservation and education.

Responsibilities:

  • Day‑to‑day care and management of the Kennels and Companion section
  • General cleaning, feeding, maintenance and record keeping
  • Assist with customer‑facing duties during 8:00 AM‑6:00 PM rota hours
  • Focus on canine and feline species

Qualifications:

  • At least a Level 3 qualification in an animal‑related subject; a degree is advantageous

Start Date: New staff are welcomed on the first Monday or third Wednesday of each month, unless a bank holiday falls on that date.
