We have an exciting opportunity for an Agricultural Practical Tutor to join our Agriculture Department at our York campus on a part-time 0.4 FTE basis (2 days per week), with the potential for additional hours in the future. We are seeking an experienced agricultural professional who is passionate about developing the next generation of farmers.
This role focuses on delivering practical and theory based agricultural training to learners aged 16–19, helping them develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for progression into employment or further study. You will deliver practical sessions across a range of agricultural disciplines, including machinery operation, livestock and general farm practices, while supporting learners to work safely, confidently and professionally. You will also contribute to classroom teaching within your area of expertise and act as a tutor for a designated group of learners, monitoring their progress and supporting their development throughout their programme.
Applicants should hold a Level 3 qualification or above in a relevant agricultural subject and possess up to date industry knowledge. A teaching qualification is desirable; however, we welcome applications from industry professionals who are willing to work towards one. Knowledge of modern agricultural practices, including machinery and land based engineering, would be advantageous.
