About the role:
Askham Bryan College is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Accounts Assistant Apprentice to join our Finance team at our York campus. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in finance gaining hands-on experience across a wide range of accounting and administrative activities while working towards a recognised qualification.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will support the day-to-day financial operations of the College, helping to deliver an efficient and professional finance service to staff, students, customers and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with cashbook processing across the College group.
- Processing online store transactions and resolving associated queries.
- Processing card receipts, payments and petty cash claims.
- Supporting both accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Assisting with supplier invoices, payment runs and customer receipts.
- Responding to finance queries from students, staff, parents and customers.
- Supporting student cash counter duties and banking activities.
- Processing journals and financial transfers.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting continuous improvement of finance processes.
- Providing administrative support to the wider Finance Team and Head of Finance.

Start Date: The College operates 2 starter/induction days per month to welcome and onboard new members. These are usually the first Monday and third Wednesday of each month (unless there is a bank holiday).
