Thanks to new investment we are recruiting to help support the company’s growth as well as maintain the high level of service that ASK4 is renowned for.

As an ASK4 Field Engineer, you will work on upgrades and installs for our managed broadband clients. Our field engineers plan, supervise, and carry out installations, repairs, and maintenance on ASK4 sites around the country. You will work closely with the project team, to gather information by reading plans, carrying out surveys and attending site meetings and will make regular visits to the sites to monitor progress and address any problems as they arise.

Working hours: Core working hours are 8:30 to 16:30 Monday to Friday, however, some flexibility will be needed.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Attend remote and site-based project meetings with ASK4’s Project Managers, Project Engineers, contractors and clients as required to assist with project management and scheduling.
  • Carry out pre-install site surveys and reports.
  • Assist with and prepare installation documentation, including risk assessments and method statements, work packs and snagging lists.
  • Attend site installs with contractors and direct them to carry out key elements of installation to sites themselves.
  • Proactively respond to field support jobs.
  • Lead and support sub-contracted installation teams during the installation of Wi-Fi network, data network and telecommunications equipment.
  • Carry out testing and commissioning of equipment.
  • Carry out on-site quality assurance checks of ASK4 and subcontracted installation teams.
  • Maintain the Wi-Fi network, data network and telecommunications equipment at ASK4 sites around your allocated region, this includes responding to faults and/or installs as required and directed by the Field Operations Coordinator.
  • Maintain your minimum stock and report back on equipment used and required. Collecting equipment for installations and ensuring subcontractors have equipment.

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Be based in the North West of England.
  • It is essential to have an ECS or CSCS card to enable access to building sites.
  • Have IT/Networking/Telecoms experience.
  • Be highly organised and able to manage conflicting priorities.
  • Experience in structured cabling installation and testing, Ethernet and fibre.
  • Have fantastic customer service skills.
  • Be Process oriented, passionate, ambitious and conscientious.
  • Be willing to travel and be flexible to accommodate peaks in workload.
  • Have an excellent standard of written and oral communication.
  • Be competent in Microsoft Office.
  • Have a full driving license. This is essential, you will be supplied with a company vehicle and fuel card.
