About the Client

Our client was born with Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 3, a genetic condition that causes weakened muscles, which means they are full-time wheelchair users. This is a great opportunity to help an individual who values their independence but understands that they do need support from an amazing team of Personal Assistants.

As written by the client: I currently live at home and work in the family business to become a financial adviser. I do regard myself as intelligent but can be a bit lazy sometimes so a kick up the backside in a nice way is always appreciated! As I have Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 3 so I need someone who is understanding and patient as it can take me longer to do things. I want to be as independent as possible, so I've chosen to become a financial adviser as it is a flexible job where I can find time to do exercise. I am looking to move into a flat which will have a room for you to stay in but I'm currently looking. My home is a bungalow that is semi-adapted for me and there would always be a spare bedroom next to mine as well if required although my parents will also help me when home. I know this may all sound quite overwhelming, but we will work together, I will help and guide you with how I want things done. If something isn't working for either of us we can talk through it. No experience is necessary because full training will be given. I am an easy-going sociable individual who is easy to get on with. I hope this has given you a good idea of what to expect.

Qualifications and requirements:

  • A valid UK drivers licence
  • Physically fit, calm and patient
  • Friendly and sociable (good sense of humour)
  • Flexible
  • Works on initiative
  • Respects and values privacy
  • Good communication skills

From here there is a multi-stage process: a phone call with Ask Jules to confirm candidate suitability, an informal call with the Client, an interview and a shadow shift.
