Waking Nights Personal Care Assistant (Maternity cover)
Ask Jules are recruiting for a Waking Nights Personal Care Assistant for our client based in
Portsmouth who is looking for compassionate individuals to join their current team of PAs.
This is a great opportunity to help make a positive impact on a young adults life.
Start: ASAP
Rota: 9pm-9am
Location: Portsmouth, PO5
Pay: £12.86 per hour including double ups
Free accommodation whilst on shift
Holidays: 5.6 weeks holiday pro rata
A Full UK Driving licence is essential for this position to drive our client\’s vehicle
About the Job:

Care experience is not required as full training in our client\’s particular requirements will be
provided.
About our Client:
Our client is a 29-year-old male who has a physical disability, Spinal Muscular Atrophy
(SMA) Type II. You will be required to work as part of a team of PAs who provide 24/7 care
and support.
Our client is confident in his own ability and lives independently with support in:
Personal Care
Health Care
Social Support
Daily Living
House Keeping
Night Time Care
You will be required to provide the highest quality of care and access to community
(shopping, events, appointments etc). Our client has a gastrostomy, medication
management, non-invasive night time ventilation, secretion management as well as needs
regarding assistance with domestic tasks. He knows what needs to be done and will direct
you.

I am looking for staff that can help me achieve day to day living tasks with a great attitude
towards life. Help me discover new things/activities and work towards enabling my own
personal agency.
I can work with many types of people and reflect the energy of the person I am with. This
isnt to say that I am without personality or self-identity, more that I enjoy as equal a
relationship as is achievable with other people. Im often told Im easy going with a good
sense of humour. My interests include good food, learning about the world, film, media and
video games. I also have a BSc in Biology & a MSc in Biotechnology from the University of
Portsmouth.
Qualifications and Requirements:
A full and clean UK driving license (Essential)
Confident driver as you will be expected to drive the clients vehicle Excellent sense
of humour and ability to not take life too seriously (Essential)
Physical fitness for transfers
A caring and patient nature
Flexible and gentle
Strong of character and morals
Strong communication and listening skills
Mature and responsible attitude
Fluent in English
Clean and tidy appearance
