We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a 23-year-old who has recently graduated with a degree in Creative Writing, Film and Theatre at the University of Reading. She is looking for a like-minded person to join her care team and assist her in daily living. Join her team of PAs, who provide personal care and independent living support. This is a great opportunity to help make a positive impact on a young adult's life.

Rate of Pay & Benefits:

  • Job Title: Personal Assistant
  • Hours: Live-in 7 Days on // 7 Days off.
  • Rate of Pay: £180 per day
  • Holiday Pay: 5.6 weeks (pro rata)

About our client:

Our client is a Creative Writing, Film and Theatre Graduate of Reading University, currently living in a bungalow near the University. She has a diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy that causes her limbs to be stiff and spasm and causes involuntary movements.

About the job:

You will provide our client's personal care and social support. This is also a flatmate type of role which goes far beyond simply care work. Previous PAs have told us that with the knowledge that they are having a positive, daily impact on someone's life, and the relaxed, inclusive working environment makes this a unique and exciting opportunity. Care experience is not required as full training in our client's particular requirements will be provided.

You will be required to work as part of a team of two PAs who will provide our client's 24/7 care and support as follows:

  • Personal Care
  • Social Support
  • Night Time Care

About You:

You are unlikely to have experience in every aspect of our client's care; therefore, full training in her particular needs is provided. You will need:

  • To be physically fit, calm, patient and caring.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • To be Covid Vaccinated (Preferred - NOT Essential).
  • Able to follow instructions, but also able to work on your own initiative.
  • A responsible attitude.
  • To be a Non-Smoker.
  • A good sense of humour.
  • To be clean and tidy in both your appearance and ways.
