About the Job

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive difference in somebody else's life. You will assist with daily living, personal care, health care, as well as supporting her social life. This is a flat mate type role, meaning so much more than just a job. Our client is looking for a friendly face that she can rely on.

Daily duties include:

  • Personal Care - Bathing, Dressing, Toileting.
  • Health Care - Administrating medicine, using medical equipment.
  • Accompanying to medical appointments.
  • Social Support such as going out over the weekend.
  • Housekeeping / Domestic duties including cooking.

About our Client

Our client values independence, freedom of choice and is looking forward to the next chapter of her life after university. Our client's ideal PA should be friendly, respectful of her privacy, supportive, and willing to help her maintain an active social life while encouraging her independence.

As written by her:

Communication and a robust personality are key for me. I like to have control over my life and hence do not like excessive mothering. It's important that you are willing to help me socialise and accompany me to concerts, to the theatre, dinner with friends etc. I need someone who will respect my privacy because sometimes I will want to be alone or with friends. As I live at home currently you will have a lot of free time in the day as I like to be independent, although I will occasionally require you to come out with me etc, but this is more rare at home as I only need a companion when using public transport and I go out alone in my current neighbourhood frequently. I know this may all sound quite overwhelming, but we will work together and I will help and guide you with how I want things done. If something isn't working for either of us we can talk through it.

Qualifications and Requirements:

You are unlikely to have experience in every aspect of our client's care therefore full training in her particular needs is provided. We are looking for applicants who have:

  • Friendly and understanding demeanour.
  • Respectful of the client's privacy and space.
  • Able to follow instructions to a tee.
  • Take constructive feedback in a positive manner.
  • A mature and responsible attitude.
  • Clear and proactive communication.

Application Process: To apply, please submit a cover letter describing your interests and explaining why you would be a suitable candidate for this unique and rewarding position.
