About our client:
Our client recently graduated from Southampton Solent University with a degree in Social Sciences after completing a Foundation Year. She has Cerebral Palsy and is a full-time wheelchair user. She has a great sense of humour, enjoys spending time with family and friends, shopping, eating out, going to the cinema and relaxing with a good film or TV series. She is kind, sociable and enjoys a laugh, and is looking for someone who is equally friendly, positive and easy to get along with. In her own words: "I'm hoping to find someone who is kind, caring, can make me laugh and doesn't take themselves too seriously, while also knowing when it's time to wind down after a busy day."
About the role:
As her Personal Assistant, you'll support her with day-to-day living, personal care and helping her remain as independent as possible. No two days are the same. You may be supporting her to:
- Assist with personal care and daily routines
- Drive her adapted vehicle to appointments and social activities
- Go shopping, out for meals or to the cinema
- Support her to meet friends and family
- Help with meal preparation and light household tasks
- Provide encouragement and practical support throughout the day
This is a one-to-one role where you'll become an important part of helping someone live life to the fullest.
About you:
We're looking for someone who is:
- Kind, caring and reliable
- Calm, patient and adaptable
- Organised and able to work independently
- Friendly with a good sense of humour
- A confident communicator with fluent English
- Professional, respectful and trustworthy
You must also:
- Hold a full, clean UK driving licence
- Be confident driving our client's adapted automatic vehicle (full familiarisation provided)
