About our client
Our client has just started her first year at Oxford University, studying a Degree in English Literature. She is a full-time electric wheelchair user and requires support in all aspects of her daily life.
She wants to study English Literature due to her passion for reading and finding connections between texts. Her favourite authors are JRR Tolkien, Jane Austen and the Brontës. She enjoys cooking and experimenting with new recipes. She loves singing and hopes to join the college choir. She is adventurous and looking forward to exploring all aspects of university life, including travel opportunities, academic events & debates, and parties.
As written by our client…
“I am looking forward to living away from home for the first time. I need my personal assistants to be responsible, flexible and friendly. I want you to help me live independently and have the ‘normal’ university experience. I have been swimming since I was a toddler and I hope that I will be able to continue this in Oxford. I might explore other disability sports such as horse riding as I really enjoyed going donkey riding when I was younger.
I am bilingual (speaking English and German) and lived in Berlin for a year with my family when younger. I enjoy visiting new places and I am really excited by the prospect of moving to an entirely new city. I want to make the most of my experience in Oxford – going to the cinema/theatre, bars and clubs, and participating in university societies as well as focusing on my academic studies. I don’t want my personal care needs to get in the way of this. I want us to have a good working relationship and be able to talk through any issues if they arise. I’m really looking forward to being at Oxford University and I hope you enjoy the ‘Harry Potter vibe’ as much as me.”
