AskJules are recruiting on behalf of our client, a university student. Our client is looking for a team of like-minded care assistants to support her with personal care and daily living at her home in Manchester during university holidays. This is a fantastic opportunity to help make a positive impact on a young adult's life.
Location: Manchester, M20 6SS
Start Date: 21st March 2026
Shift Pattern: Term Time, (28 weeks a year) / 12h shifts including a mixture of days / nights
Rate of Pay: £16.00 per hour
Care experience is not essential for this role as full training will be provided.
About our client: Our client is a first-year English Language & Literature university student at Oxford University. She is a full-time electric wheelchair user and requires support in all aspects of her daily life. She is passionate about reading and finding connections between texts. Her favourite authors are JRR Tolkien, Jane Austen, and the Brontës. She enjoys cooking and experimenting with new recipes. She loves singing and hopes to join the college choir. She is adventurous and looking forward to exploring all aspects of university life, including travel opportunities, academic events & debates, and parties.
About the Job: You will provide our client's health and social support. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive difference to somebody else's life and to assist our client to achieve her goals and ambitions. This job offers the prospect of meaning and job satisfaction. This role goes far beyond simply care work and includes all the fun things you'd expect a first-year university student to be doing, like getting out and socialising, whether that be cinema, going out for meals or other general activities!
Duties will include:
- Assistance with personal care
- Domestic duties / cooking, cleaning & shopping
- Accompanying our client to appointments and events
- Supporting around university and beyond
- Support with travelling and accessing venues

- Physically fit, not overbearing, organised & respectful of our client's privacy
- Have the ability to work on your own initiative
- Have a good sense of humour
- Able to follow instructions
- Be calm under pressure
- Have good and clear communication skills
- Be fluent in English
- Be clean and tidy in both your appearance and ways
- Hold a clean driving licence (preferred but not essential)
