We have an amazing opportunity for you to become a Personal Care Assistant to a wonderful young lady who is in their 3rd year of an Engineering degree. She is looking for professional and reliable PAs to assist with daily living.
Start: ASAP
Location: Malmesbury, Wiltshire (SN16)
Rota: Live in Week 1 Tuesday 16.00PM to Thursday 16.00PM, Week 2 Monday 16.00PM to Thursday 16.00PM
Pay: £180 per day
Free accommodation whilst on shift.
Holidays: 5.6 weeks holiday pro rata
Having access to your own vehicle is essential due to the rural location of this position.
About the Job
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive difference in somebody else's life. Our client is looking for a PA that will bring professionalism and organisation to this role. You will be responsible for all aspects of care and support. Daily duties include but are not limited to:
- Health care: Administering medicine, attending doctors' appointments
- Daily Living / Activities
- Social Support
- Housekeeping / Domestic duties
Care experience is not required as full training in our client's particular requirements will be provided.
As written by the client: I have Autism and a musculoskeletal condition called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. I need support creating and keeping to routines that feel safe and comfortable, support with problem solving and someone who can be patient, kind and calm whilst supporting me. With the right support I live an active and busy life. PAs help me by looking out for what I might need with small physical tasks and recognising when things are getting too much and stepping in before I get overwhelmed. I'm a huge fan of board games, especially social deception ones like Avalon and Blood on the Clocktower, and I regularly attend the university board game club. I also enjoy structured social activities, puzzles, cultivating my garden and anything crafty!
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Access to your own vehicle (Essential, as you will be required to drive our client to medical appointments, social events etc)
- Experience and knowledge working in Neurodiversity (preferred)
- Professional attitude and appearance when on shift
- Physical fitness, patience, and a caring nature
- Strong communication and listening skills
- Mature and responsible attitude
- Clean and tidy appearance
- Comfortable around dogs - Clients family have a well-trained golden retriever that visits the home
