We are looking for a Personal Assistant / Care Assistant to support our client, a Creative Writing & English Literature graduate, with personal care, independent living and enjoying life to the fullest.

This is a varied role where you'll be supporting someone both at home and out in the community. One day you could be helping with everyday tasks; the next you could be supporting a social outing, watching a film or getting involved in one of their creative projects.

The role

  • Hours: 3 to 4 days per week
  • Shifts are scheduled between:
    • Monday-Friday: 8:00am-5:00pm
    • Saturday: 9:00am-5:00pm
    • Sunday: 9:00am-12:00pm
  • Location: Hanwell, London, W7
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Pay: £15 per hour
  • Holiday: 5.6 weeks holiday pro rata

About our client

Our client has a degree in Creative Writing & English Literature from Bath Spa University and is now pursuing their ambition of becoming a writer. They have Arthrogryposis, which causes weak muscles and stiff joints and require support with personal care, mobility and everyday living, as well as getting out and enjoying social activities.

But this role is about far more than care. It's about supporting someone to live independently, pursue their ambitions and experience everything they can.

What you'll be doing

Your duties will include:

  • Personal care: bathing, dressing and toileting
  • Mobility support
  • Administering medication and using medical equipment following training
  • Cooking, shopping and other daily tasks
  • Supporting social activities and outings
  • Companionship and encouragement
  • Housekeeping, cleaning, laundry and ironing

  • Caring, patient, reliable and trustworthy
  • Comfortable providing personal care
  • Physically able to carry out the duties of the role
  • A good communicator who respects privacy and confidentiality
  • Organised and able to work independently
  • Comfortable with cooking and domestic tasks
  • Flexible and able to commit to the agreed working pattern
  • Willing to provide cover when required
  • A full UK driving licence holder (Essential)
  • Willing to travel abroad with our client when required
  • Open-minded, friendly and equipped with a good sense of humour
