Ask Jules is recruiting on behalf of our client, who is starting a History & Politics degree at Brunel University this September. They are looking for friendly, reliable and respectful Personal Assistants to join the team and provide personal, academic and social support throughout their university journey.

Start: Mid-September 2026

Live-In Position: Β£200.00 per day

Location: Brunel University, UB8 3PH (Term time) & Family home during holidays (Northwest London)

No previous care experience is required as we provide full training, so this role is ideal for someone with the right attitude, compassion and willingness to learn.

This is much more than a traditional care role. You'll be supporting a bright, ambitious university student to live independently, succeed academically, enjoy university life and make the most of every opportunity while building a working relationship.

About our client

Our client is an intelligent, friendly and determined young man who is preparing to begin university, where he will study History and Politics.

He has Cerebral Palsy and is a full time powered wheelchair user. He requires support with all aspects of daily living, including personal care, mobility, transfers, meal preparation. He is keen to embrace university life, join societies, make new friends and enjoy the independence that comes with student life.

Outside of his studies, he enjoys following football (especially Leicester City), politics, history, music from the 1960s to the present day, musical theatre, YouTube and visiting art galleries. He would love to find someone who shares some of his interests and enjoys good conversation.

About the role

As his Personal Assistant, you'll support him with all aspects of daily living while promoting his independence and helping him get the most from university.

You will support with:

  • Assist with personal care, toileting, dressing and daily routines
  • Support with mobility and transfers using specialist equipment (full training provided)
  • Prepare meals and assist with eating when required
  • Administer medication following training
  • Complete daily stretching exercises
  • Support attendance at lectures, appointments and university activities
  • Accompany him on social outings, trips and events
  • Assist with typing or computer tasks when required
  • Support with budgeting and everyday organisation
  • Provide overnight support if required

About you

  • A confident communicator who is happy to ask questions when needed
  • Professional, respectful and trustworthyYou must also:
  • Hold a full clean UK driving licence (Desirable)
  • Be physically able to assist with mobility, moving and handling
  • Friendly, patient & reliable
  • Respectful of privacy & personal boundaries
  • Encouraging, positive and promote independence
