Are you a recent graduate and not sure what to do next? Or are you someone with a passion for making a positive impact in others' lives? We are recruiting a Personal Assistant on behalf of our client, a young adult who is a wheelchair user with Spinal Muscular Atrophy type 2. He is looking for a PA to join his team to enable him to be as independent as possible, whilst out and about in the community.
Location: Crowthorne, Berkshire (RG45)
Shift Times
- Week 1: Tuesday 3-11pm, Wednesday 3-11pm, Thursday 3-11pm, Friday 11am-11pm (36 hours)
- Week 2: Tuesday 3-11pm, Wednesday 3-11pm, Thursday 3-11pm, Friday 11am-11pm, Saturday 12 hours shift (48 hours)
Rate of Pay & Benefits:
- Start: ASAP
- Pay: £16 per hour
- Holidays: 5.6 weeks annual leave, pro rata.
- A Full UK Driving licence is preferred but not essential for this position as you might be required to drive the client's vehicle.
About Our Client:
Our client has Spinal Muscular Atrophy type 2 and will require support with certain aspects of life such as personal care, medication administration (including enemas), commuting to appointments and general social support. Day-to-day duties will vary; however, you will receive training in all aspects of his care/equipment. As a PA, we are looking for someone proactive, organised and able to follow instructions given by the client. Our client loves gaming and watching YouTube videos in his spare time. He has a huge passion for the Star Wars Franchise and Marvel films. Previously he has attended Comic Cons in the UK and would enjoy doing similar events. Our client is looking for a supportive individual, who will encourage him to try new sports and events to enrich his life.

Duties Would include:
- Providing comprehensive support in daily activities, both at home and during outings

Skills & Requirements:
- A Full UK driving license (Essential)
- Previous care experience
- Confident driver as you will be expected to drive the client's vehicle
- Excellent communication skills
- Open minded
- Good organisation skills, and the ability to work on your own initiative
- Ideally be independent, but also reliable and trustworthy when necessary.
- Physically fit, calm & patient
- Comfortable with pets, as the client has a small dog
