We’re on the lookout for a Personal Assistant to support a film and TV student at Royal Holloway, University of London.

Start Date: ASAP

Location: Englefield Green, Egham (TW20)

Shift Pattern: 7 days on / 7 days off (live-in)

Rate of Pay & Benefits:

  • Pay: £180 per day / £1,260 per week
  • Holidays: 5.6 weeks (pro rata)
  • Bespoke training in the client’s particular requirements will be provided
  • On-call support from client coordinator

About Our Client:

Let’s introduce you to the star of the show—our client. He is a confident, passionate, and creative individual who’s all about film and media. He’s also an artist and loves music—whether it’s listening to music, artwork or watching films. Oh, and did we mention he’s a total night owl? If you love late-night creativity, deep chats about films, or just embracing the student life rhythm, this could be a perfect match. He has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and uses an electric wheelchair, but that doesn’t stop him from living life to the fullest. He’s excited to make the most of every opportunity and he needs a like-minded PA to help him do just that.

About The Job:

This isn’t your typical 9 to 5. It’s about being part of a journey—helping with day-to-day life, supporting with studies, and embracing all the experiences that come with student life. One moment, you might be assisting with daily tasks or keeping things organised; the next, you could be discussing film theories over a late-night takeaway or heading out for a spontaneous adventure.

We’re looking for someone who’s friendly, reliable, and proactive—someone who understands the balance between being social and giving space when needed. If you love film, media, or music, that’s a bonus, but more importantly, you should be ready to embrace the rhythm of student life, late nights included.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Someone who is physically capable, calm, patient, and genuinely caring.
  • Organised, reliable, and able to work on their own initiative.
  • A mature and responsible attitude, with a proactive approach to life.
  • Good communication skills and bonus points a great sense of humour!
  • Clean, tidy, and respectful of personal space.
  • A non-smoker.
  • Values hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Someone who enjoys cooking and can prepare tasty meals.
  • (Desirable but not essential): Experience in caregiving or being a PA.
  • (Desirable but not essential): An automatic driving licence.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Assisting with personal care (including dressing, showering, and using the hoist).
  • Helping with daily tasks, from housekeeping to general organisation.
  • Meal preparation.
  • Assisting with physio programs and using mobility equipment (electric wheelchair, shower chair, etc.).
  • Getting involved in social activities, outings, and making sure life stays fun and fulfilling.
