We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a university student with Cerebral Palsy. She is looking for a compassionate PA to enable her to be as independent as possible.
Start Date: ASAP
Working: Live-in 7 days on / 7 days off
Location: Southampton Solent University // Chichester at home over the holidays
Rate of Pay & Benefits:
- Pay: £150 Per day / £1,050 per week worked
- Accommodation provided when on shift
- 5.6 week's holiday pro rata.
About our Client
Our client is in her second year at Southampton Solent University doing a Social Sciences following a Foundation Year. She has a diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy and is a full-time wheelchair user. She has a great sense of humour and doesn’t take life too seriously. Our client enjoys watching TV and Netflix. She leads an active social life, meeting up with friends and family to go shopping, eating out or the cinema. With a kind and delightful persona, she is keen to embrace the full University life.
About the Job
This is a fantastic opportunity to truly make a positive difference to somebody else’s life. To assist our client to achieve her goals and aspirations. Therefore, this job offers the prospect of meaning and job satisfaction. You will provide our client's academic support and health and social care. This is also a "flat mate" type of role which goes far beyond simply care work, and includes all the fun things you’d expect a first-year university student to be doing, like getting out and about to see friends, going to parties, attending events and much more! Care experience is not required as full training in our client’s particular requirements will be provided. A driver is preferred for this role, and if you are, you must hold a full clean UK driving licence as you may be driving our client’s adapted car.
About You
You are unlikely to have experience in every aspect of our client’s care therefore full training in her particular needs is provided. You will need:
- To be physically fit, calm, patient and caring
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work on your own initiative
- To have a good sense of humour
- A mature and responsible attitude
- To hold an automatic clean driving licence
- Good communication skills
- To be fluent in English
- To be clean and tidy in both your appearance and ways
- To be a non-smoker
