About our client: Our client has a condition called Muscular Dystrophy and will require support with certain aspects of his life - Personal Care, and Daily living support in his home. He relies on a Power Wheelchair day-to-day, and requires the PAs to be there when necessary to support him. Our client takes a large interest in Railways, History and enjoys playing Video Games. Due to his University Course, residential trips are a common occurrence, so he would be looking for someone to join him overnight and enjoy the trips, whilst he carries on his University life.
About the job: The ideal candidate will be responsible, confident and sociable. I need help getting to and from the university and getting on/off the train. Thankfully the train guards are really good at helping, they just need someone to tell them I am there and want to get on, which can be hard for me on my own because there have been a few occasions when they were inside the train and didn't see me. I also need someone who doesn't mind helping me on a weekend as sometimes I need help getting up in the morning or doing tasks when nobody is there to help. I must also mention I have a dog and cats, who although are friendly, I appreciate some people don't like one or the other due to allergies etc.
