AskJules are looking for a team of likeminded PAs to support our client, a 1st year Biochemistry student, who will be attending Nottingham Trent University. This is a great opportunity to help make a positive impact on a fun loving, active, young person's life!

Start: Immediate start available

Rota: Live-In / 7 days on / 7 days off

Location: Nottingham Trent University

Pay: £180 per day / £1,260 per week worked

Free accommodation whilst on shift.

About the Job: From September, our client is looking forward to leaving his small hometown and starting his Biochemistry degree at Nottingham Trent University. He’s building a friendly team of Personal Care Assistants to support him each day, providing care in a respectful and discreet way. He will be living in university halls, where you’ll have your own dedicated PA room.

Daily tasks will include:

  • Personal Care
  • Health Care
  • Social Support
  • Housekeeping / Domestic duties
  • Transportation

You will be required to drive the client's automatic vehicle. Care experience is welcomed but not essential, as full training in our client's particular requirements will be provided.

About our Client: Our client has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy and is a full-time wheelchair user. He’s a huge sports fan, regularly attending live events, and is an enthusiastic powerchair football player. You’ll support him in travelling to training sessions and matches throughout the university year. Away from sport, he enjoys Warhammer strategy games, Pokémon TCG, and exploring new places. Recent plans include a trip to Amsterdam with his father, and he hopes to visit South America in the future. Your role will cover all aspects of daily life, ensuring his comfort, independence, and quality of life.

As written by the client: I have Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, which causes muscle fatigue and tightness over time. Tasks can take me longer, so I need someone who’s patient, understanding, and respectful of my independence. I’m a huge LCFC fan and love watching football whether it’s on TV, at the pub, or live at matches. I train powerchair football weekly and attend league meetings (6 times a year) and regionals (7 Sundays a year). I love going out - meals, clubbing, concerts, theatre, and hanging out with friends. I’m looking for a PA who is respectful of my privacy and flexible with plans. Friendly, joyful, and reserved with a good sense of humour. I know this might sound overwhelming, but we’ll work together.

Our Ideal PA will:

  • Hold a Valid UK Driving Licence (Essential)
  • Hold a valid Passport with a willingness to travel across Europe (Desirable)
  • Willing to organise and attend events such as Football matches, Formula 1, Festivals and other large scale events
  • Caring and patient in nature
  • Reliable and trustworthy
  • A strong communicator
  • Have a great sense of humour
