No previous care experience is required; we provide full training, so this role is ideal for someone with the right attitude, compassion and willingness to learn. This is much more than a traditional care role. You'll be supporting a young woman to live independently, enjoy her social life and achieve her goals while building a genuine working relationship with her.

What we offer:

  • £15.00 per hour
  • Guaranteed 30 hours per week (three 10-hour shifts)
  • Accommodation provided while on shift
  • 5.6 weeks holiday (pro rata)
  • Full paid training
  • A varied, rewarding one-to-one role
  • The opportunity to make a real difference every day

About our client:

Our client recently graduated from Southampton Solent University with a degree in Social Sciences after completing a Foundation Year. She has Cerebral Palsy and is a full-time wheelchair user. She has a great sense of humour, enjoys spending time with family and friends, shopping, eating out, going to the cinema and relaxing with a good film or TV series. She is kind, sociable and enjoys a laugh, and is looking for someone who is equally friendly, positive and easy to get along with. In her own words: "I'm hoping to find someone who is kind, caring, can make me laugh and doesn't take themselves too seriously, while also knowing when it's time to wind down after a busy day."

About the role:

As her Personal Assistant, you'll support her with day-to-day living, personal care and helping her remain as independent as possible. No two days are the same. You may be supporting her to:

  • Assist with personal care and daily routines
  • Drive her adapted vehicle to appointments and social activities
  • Go shopping, out for meals or to the cinema
  • Support her to meet friends and family
  • Help with meal preparation and light household tasks
  • Provide encouragement and practical support throughout the day

This is a one-to-one role where you'll become an important part of helping someone live life to the fullest.

About you:

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Kind, caring and reliable
  • Calm, patient and adaptable
  • Organised and able to work independently
  • Friendly with a good sense of humour
  • A confident communicator with fluent English
  • Professional, respectful and trustworthy

You must also:

  • Hold a full, clean UK driving licence
  • Be confident driving our client's adapted automatic vehicle (full familiarisation provided)
  • Have access to your own vehicle to travel to and from shifts
  • Be physically able to assist with mobility and daily support following full training

Previous care experience is welcome but not essential. Your personality, reliability and willingness to learn are what matter most.
