Job Description

Care Assistant to a Psychology University Student – Sevenoaks / Canterbury

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a young adult, who is living at home in Sevenoaks. He will be returning back to University from September. Our client is looking for a like-minded Care Assistant to provide his personal care and independent living support. This is a great opportunity to help make a positive impact on a young adult’s life!

Start Date: ASAP

Shift Pattern At Home: Hourly 12/14 hr shifts / Between 3 to 4 days per week, on a two-week rolling rota

Shift Pattern At Uni: Live in between 3 to 4 consecutive shifts with overnight stays

Rate of Pay: £12.21 Per Hour / £15 per hour double ups (At Home) // £260 per day when (At Uni)

Location: Sevenoaks, Kent (Off Term) // Canterbury Christchurch University (Term time)

Care experience is not required as full training in our client's particular requirements will be provided.

You must hold a full clean UK driving licence as you will be driving our client's adapted car.

5.6 week's holiday pro rata.

About Our Client

Our client has a physical disability called Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), which causes progressive muscle weakness. As a result, he is a full-time wheelchair user. Our client is currently looking for a Care Assistant to provide his personal care and living support in his home in Sevenoaks. He will be returning back to University in Canterbury from September, where the role will change into a live in position, where PAs will be required to stay overnight from to three times per week. Due to the nature of the role, our client is looking for local PAs.

"I enjoy listening to music, I am a PC and console gamer and enjoy reading. I also like going out to gigs, and nights out while at university. I’m also quite active with politics on campus which I am quite passionate about. I will be living in halls during my remaining year at university and then living with my parents during holidays.

What I like to do in my free time:

– Concerts, music festivals and more gigs

– Cinema, theatre, and museums

– Going for walks in nature or in the city.

– Going to the pub or out for a meal with friends- When I go out, I will

need help sometimes, so you can always do your own thing, I’ll

text/ring you when I need help.

-Gaming, PC and Console. I play RPGs, FPS, Strategy, online

shooters. I would prefer if you are also a gamer!!

– Watching films and television, listening to music

– Reading, novels or about politics

At home

At home I need help with most of the above, although domestic wise,

my mum does most of this. I have two cats and a British Bulldog, so if

you help me at home you have to not be bothered by animals."

·To be fluent in English.

·To be clean and tidy in both your appearance and ways.

·To be a non-smoker

·A full clean UK driving licence – you need to be a confident Motorway driver.
