AskJules are recruiting on behalf of our client, a university student at the University of Oxford. Our client is looking for a team of like-minded care assistants to support her with personal care and daily living at Manchester off term and Oxford during term time. This is a fantastic opportunity to help make a positive impact on a young adult's life.
Location: Oxford, OX1 3PN term time / Manchester, M20 6SS off term time
Start Date: 26th September 2026 for training
Shift Pattern: Block shifts of 36h/48h Term Time & hourly off term time 8 weeks on term time in Oxford & 6 weeks off, off term time in Manchester
Rate of Pay: £16.00 per hour
Care experience is not essential for this role as full training will be provided.
About our client: Our client is looking for a team of full-time PAs to assist her at her home in Manchester, as well as at Oxford during term time. She is a full-time electric wheelchair user and requires support in all aspects of her daily life. She is an intelligent young woman who enjoys studying and learning. She likes spending time with her friends to relax and unwind. She is creative and likes to paint, crochet and make things. She enjoys listening to music and singing. She is adventurous and looking forward to exploring all aspects of university, including travel opportunities, academic events & debates and parties.
About the Job: You will provide our client's health and social support. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive difference to somebody else's life and to assist our client to achieve her goals and ambitions. This job offers the prospect of meaning and job satisfaction. This role goes far beyond simply care work and includes all the fun things you'd expect a first-year university student to be doing, like getting out and socialising, whether that be cinema, going out for meals or other general activities!
Duties will include:
- Assistance with personal care
- Domestic duties / cooking, cleaning & shopping
- Accompanying our client to appointments and events
- Supporting around university and beyond
- Support with travelling and accessing venues

- Physically fit, not overbearing, organised & respectful of our client's privacy
- Have the ability to work on your own initiative
- Have a good sense of humour
- Able to follow instructions
- Be calm under pressure
- Have good and clear communication skills

- Be clean and tidy in both your appearance and ways
- Hold a clean driving licence (preferred but not essential)
