I am looking for two people to fill spaces in my team of very lovely personal assistants, who are off to do some travelling! These jobs have a mid-March start. I’m also open to having new team members join me on a more temporary basis from March until the Summer 2026, or on a more permanent basis.

I have a physical disability, and need someone around for help now and again and to be on stand-by to keep me safe. My disability means I can’t walk and use an electric wheelchair to get about - I’m socially and cognitively normal.

I’m looking for someone easy going and reliable, to help me with daily living tasks and accompany me out and about. For example, while on shift you might help me cook, do laundry, clean, pop to the shops, walk my dog together or help me put on shoes and a coat.

This job has a lot of down-time and would suit someone able to entertain themselves. Many of my personal assistants complete qualifications, online training courses or are students while working with me, (or just watch some TV or do hobbies!) The job can also sometimes be busy - you might also accompany me while I am out and about and you’ll accompany me to work (although often you’ll station yourself somewhere with your laptop or a book until I text for help). What we do day to day can vary and so a can-do attitude is important.

Sometimes I also go on holidays abroad or trips to London to see my friends and my PAs join me, to help along the way (expenses typically paid for.) My disability is only physical, and I can easily explain what I need help with and when, therefore no previous care experience is needed, so please still apply even if you don’t have experience. Minimal to no personal care (just helping me with clothes here and there and doing my hair.) I always say if you can look after yourself, you will be fine looking after me.

You do however have to take your responsibility within the job seriously, as you are there to keep me safe. Driver is preferred. I have my own car (an automatic). I can drive myself, but it’s very useful if you can also drive. It will also make it easier to get to my house for your shifts, which has on-street parking.

While you are on shift you have your own room to hang out in, wifi, a bed, desk, etc (so you can set yourself up for your shift and keep yourself occupied while I don’t need help).

The hours are 36 a week (with opportunity to pick up extra shifts from others if there is sickness, holidays, etc.) The hours are usually arranged into one 12 hour shift (either 8am - 8pm or 8pm - 8am) and a 24 hour shift (typically a 8pm - 8pm shift). Shifts which are overnight involve arriving at 8pm, helping me with various tasks, and then going to sleep in your PA room, after I go to sleep. I have a team member 24/7 to make sure I can have stand-by help overnight, if needed. You also get a paid hour break per 12 hours of work.

Please apply with a short cover letter explaining why you have applied for the role and why you think you’d be a good fit for it (no need to over-complicate things, just tell me about yourself!)

The ideal applicant will also need:

  • To be organised and be able to follow instructions.
  • To be respectful towards the client’s privacy.
  • To be calm, patient and caring with a friendly approach and a good sense of humour.
  • To be motivated and enthusiastic.
  • To have a mature and responsible attitude.
  • To be presentable in both your appearance and ways.
  • To be a good timekeeper.
  • To be reliable and organised and maintain excellent standards.
  • To be a good conversationalist.

Application Process: To apply, please submit a cover letter describing your interests and explaining why you would be a suitable candidate for this unique and rewarding position.
