We have an amazing opportunity for you to become a Personal Assistant to a young adult in their 3rd year at the University of Sussex. This is a great opportunity to help make a positive impact on a young adult's life.
Start: Immediate start (training to start immediately)
Rota: 7 days on / 7 days off (until the summer time/end of June)
Location: University of Sussex (BN1)
Pay: £180 per day = £1,260 per week worked
Free accommodation whilst on shift.
Holidays: 5.6 weeks holiday pro rata
A Full UK Driving licence is desirable for this position but not essential.
About the Job
Our client has Quadraplegic cerebral palsy and autism, so she is looking for a reliable, fun and understanding individual to assist her with her daily living, supporting her in navigating around the city and regular days out, as well as assisting with her creative writing including helping her to stay motivated and continue her writing projects. This is a great opportunity to do something very different and meaningful in what would hopefully be a long-term position.

Care experience is not required as full training in our client's particular requirements will be provided.
About our Client
Our client is a creative person and enjoys a variety of things including learning new languages, creative writing and socialising with friends. They are venturing away from home for the first time and are looking for someone creative, compassionate and reliable to join a team of PAs in helping facilitate this next step in our client's journey of seeking independence. Experience with caring for a neurodivergent individual is essential for this role.
Preferable skills:
- Experience/Knowledge of caring for a neurodivergent individual (Essential)
- Great working attitude
- Excellent sense of humour and ability to not take life too seriously
- Physical fitness, patience, and a caring nature
- Strong communication and listening skills
- Mature and responsible attitude
- You must be able to respect our client's privacy and understand the need for confidentiality in all areas of your work.
- Fluent in English
- Clean and tidy appearance
- Experience in a creative field would be desirable to assist our client with their work.
- Confident in the use of Google Docs and Microsoft Word
- A full and clean UK driving license (Desirable)
Training and Development: Full training in the client's particular needs will be provided, making this an ideal opportunity for individuals without previous care experience. You will also have on-call support from our client coordinator team.
