Lifestyle / Care Assistant for a Law Student in London Location: London E7 Start Date: ASAP subject to DBS check and security clearance Rate of Pay: £12.75p/h - day shift, £12.71 p/h night shift Shift Pattern: 12-24 hours block, 24-48 hours per week About me (the client): I'm about to start my next chapter; after graduating with a first-class undergraduate degree in Business and Management, I am moving to London to start a part time master's degree in law and to continue working alongside in my current job in Westminster. I'm a chatty, very sociable person and I'm excited to explore what London has to offer! I am recruiting additional members for my very lovely personal assistance (PA) team. My team assists me with day-to-day tasks that I find difficult due to my physical disability. I am looking for team members to help keep me well, so I can achieve my full potential at work and university. If you are reliable, are a natural problem solver with a can-do attitude and have a sense of humour - we will get along marvellously. You don't need any previous care experience for this role. I am recruiting for multiple team members, so if you have someone in mind who you feel would enjoy and be good at this role, like a friend or family member, do send it to them too! Job description: Housekeep, including cooking, cleaning, laundry and looking after my home. Drive or accompany me in the car or tube, facilitating getting me to social events, meeting up with friends, etc. Accompany me to university or to work, including facilitating my movements around the workplace/campus, (pressing lift buttons, opening doors, collecting or dropping off from meetings, packing bags, collecting lunch, making tea, setting up my workspace). Help with day-to-day routines like getting dressed (no previous care experience required as personal care is fairly limited, paid training provided.) Doing my hair, curling with straighteners, platting, ponytail, bun, etc. Helping me maintain my equipment used to help with my disability. This is simple, I promise. Anything else which I need help with to live my best life. This might mean that sometimes we go on holiday, travel between Bristol and London or go on trips. A can-do attitude and an ability to adapt to different environments is essential. The perfect applicant will: ·

Hold a clean, automatic or manual driver's license and be happy to drive my car. ·

Have lived continually in the UK for 5 years (this is a requirement for parliamentary security clearance which is needed to accompany me to my place of work, a successful probation period is subject to passing security vetting). ·

Be comfortable entertaining yourself during periods of down-time, while remaining available nearby for when I need assistance. I am an independent person and will often be working, studying, socialising or spending time with friends while you are on shift. There can therefore be periods of significant downtime, some of my team study, read, watch tv, do a hobby, etc. ·

Take the responsibility of keeping me safe seriously. ·

Be presentable, tidy and conduct themselves in a professional way while we are at my workplace together. ·

Enjoy cooking, doing hair and having a chat! Key Details: My PA's mostly work 24-hour shifts or 12-hour shifts (8pm-8pm the next day). For example, some of my PAs work two 24 hour shifts a week. This means they might work two days a week and then not at all for a few days. Pay is hourly, even on 24-hour shifts. Salary is paid weekly. 1 hour paid break per 12-hour shift. You will have your own bedroom/breakroom while on shift with Wi-Fi and a bed. Shift patterns tend to be fairly regular and you will normally have these about a month in advance. However, you will still be expected to have a level of flexibility and be willing to cover shifts when there is sickness in the team. Application Process: To apply, please submit a cover letter describing your interests and explaining why you would be a suitable candidate for this unique and rewarding position. Due to the personal care needs of the client, this role is open to female applicants only. This requirement is an occupational requirement as permitted under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010. About Us: Ask Jules is committed to fostering an inclusive environment.
