The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is a multilateral development bank whose mission is financing infrastructure for tomorrow in Asia and beyond – infrastructure with sustainability at its core. The Financial Institutions and Funds Clients, Global Department (FIF) is responsible for executing transactions with and expanding AIIB's client relationships among financial institutions and funds in the infrastructure sector globally. FIF works closely with financial institutions, private equity and debt funds, asset aggregation vehicles, and similar clients across the range of AIIB-covered sectors, geographies, and products to deliver the Bank's Corporate Strategy and targets. In addition, FIF focuses on the ongoing expansion of business, targeting opportunities that are highly aligned with AIIB's sectoral and product strategies, in particular the Strategy on Mobilizing Private Capital for Infrastructure and the Strategy on Investing in Equity. This includes investments in collateralized loan obligations (CLOs) and other structured products.

The Investment Analyst within FIF will assist senior team members in the origination, structuring, and execution of investments across AIIB's entire product offering. The successful candidate may also be assigned to conduct portfolio analysis and investment monitoring function.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research on projects, clients, and portfolio.
  • Arrange and prepare client calling and background documents for such interactions, including presentations, memos, and reports.
  • Coordinate and participate in internal meetings, and conduct follow-up and reporting.
  • Support project due diligence and approval processes, with an emphasis on ensuring that key economic, financial, technical, and legal issues are considered and mitigants are incorporated in the financing structure.
  • Analyze financial statements, and assist project team leaders in structuring transactions.
  • Prepare financial models to assess commercial and financial viability of operations.
  • Support coordination through information exchanges and work with relevant divisions of the Bank.
  • Responsible for the collation, analysis, and presentation of operational data in preparation of business planning.
  • Support the Management and senior team in achieving targets and objectives.
  • Perform ad hoc tasks assigned by the Director General of the department.

Requirements:

  • Minimum three years of relevant work experience obtained within multilateral development banks or international organizations.
  • Master's degree or equivalent, preferably in business administration, economics, or public administration. Professional qualifications such as CFA, CFA, and ESG will be considered an advantage.
  • Understanding of core infrastructure sector financing in both sovereign- and non-sovereign-backed modalities and FI thematic financing would be a strong asset.
  • Proficiency in data and process analysis and data visualization. Proven experience with MS Office applications is a must.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of project management and operational services.
  • Ability to think independently while working under limited supervision.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and solution-orientated.
  • Proficiency in oral and written communication in English.
