Trainee Garage Equipment Engineer

Are you mechanically minded, good with your hands and looking to build a career in engineering?

We’re looking for a Trainee Garage Equipment Engineer to join a growing team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with an engineering or mechanical brain who enjoys figuring out how things work and wants to learn a skilled trade.

You don’t need previous experience as a garage equipment engineer — full training will be provided!

The Role

You’ll initially work alongside an experienced engineer, travelling to garages, workshops and other customer sites to learn the role.

You’ll get involved with the installation, servicing, maintenance and repair of a range of garage and workshop equipment, which can include:

  • Vehicle lifts and lifting equipment
  • MOT and testing equipment
  • Tyre fitting and balancing equipment
  • Compressors and associated equipment
  • Workshop machinery and equipment
  • Carrying out servicing and maintenance
  • Diagnosing faults and helping with repairs
  • Installing new equipment at customer sites

Every day will be different, and you’ll spend plenty of time out on the road rather than being stuck in one workshop.

As you gain experience and become fully trained, you’ll have the opportunity to work more independently and will be provided with a fully equipped company van.

  • What We’re Looking For
  • A mechanically or technically minded person
  • Someone who enjoys fixing, building or working things out
  • An engineering or mechanical background would be ideal
  • Practical and hands-on
  • Keen to learn and develop new skills
  • Comfortable travelling to different sites
  • Reliable and hardworking
  • Able to work well alongside an experienced engineer
  • Full UK driving licence preferred
  • What’s On Offer
  • Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm
  • No weekend work
  • Full training from an experienced engineer
  • Hands-on experience from day one
  • Lots of variety and travel
  • The opportunity to develop into a fully qualified/independent engineer
  • Fully equipped company van once trained
  • Long-term career opportunity

If you’re mechanically minded, enjoy practical work and are looking for a career where you can learn a skilled trade and work towards becoming an engineer, this could be a great opportunity to get started.
