Workshop Support Administrator – Parts & Administration

📍 Near Gomshall
💷 £33,000–£35,000
🕗 Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm
🚫 No customer-facing work

Are you organised, computer confident and experienced within the motor trade?

Do you enjoy keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes rather than being customer-facing?

We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established independent workshop near Gomshall, who are looking for an experienced Workshop Support Administrator / Parts Coordinator to join their team.

This is a key role within the workshop, working closely with technicians to make sure they have the right parts, at the right time, so the workshop can operate efficiently.

Previous motor trade experience is essential for this position, along with a good understanding of vehicle parts and workshop processes.

The Role

This is a varied and busy workshop support role, with a strong focus on parts, organisation and computer-based administration.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Ordering parts for workshop technicians
  • Checking incoming parts and deliveries
  • Ensuring the correct parts have been supplied
  • Managing and tracking orders using computer systems
  • Using Microsoft Excel regularly
  • Liaising with suppliers regarding parts and deliveries
  • Helping technicians with parts-related queries
  • Keeping parts and workshop administration organised
  • Monitoring outstanding orders and ensuring everything arrives when required
  • Working closely with technicians and the wider workshop team
  • Helping to keep the workshop running efficiently

What We’re Looking For

Motor trade experience is essential for this role. You may have worked previously in parts, within a workshop environment, service administration or another automotive position where you’ve developed a good understanding of vehicles and parts.

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced within the motor trade
  • Confident with vehicle parts and workshop terminology
  • Highly organised and methodical
  • Comfortable using computers and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent at managing multiple orders and priorities
  • Detail-focused and accurate
  • Reliable and proactive
  • A good communicator who works well with technicians and colleagues
  • Comfortable working in a busy workshop environment

You won’t be dealing with customers, so this is ideal for someone who prefers a workshop-based support role and enjoys making sure everything is organised behind the scenes.

What’s On Offer

  • £33,000–£35,000 salary
  • Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm
  • 20 days’ annual holiday + Bank Holidays
  • Permanent position with an established independent workshop
  • Non-customer-facing position
  • Close working relationship with experienced technicians
  • Varied role with plenty of responsibility
  • Opportunity to become an important part of a well-established workshop team

The Opportunity

This is a great opportunity for an experienced motor trade professional who is organised, computer confident and enjoys the operational side of a busy workshop.

If you have the automotive knowledge to understand what technicians need, the organisational skills to keep parts and orders under control, and you’re looking for a Monday-to-Friday role without customer-facing responsibilities, this could be a great next move.
