If you enjoy solving tricky faults more than explaining to customers why their “definitely just started making that noise yesterday” car sounds like it’s auditioning for a scrapyard role — this one’s for you. We’re recruiting on behalf of a respected, professional independent garage in the Cranleigh area, known for quality workmanship, strong diagnostics, and a team that actually knows its way around a multimeter.
What’s on offer?
- £50,000–£55,000 basic salary
- Minimum £6,000 annual bonus
- Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm
- Optional Saturday overtime available for those who like extra hours (or extra bacon sandwiches)
- 22 days holiday + Bank Holidays
- Long Service Leave increasing to 25 days after 3 years
- Loyalty bonus scheme: £750 after year 1 increasing by £750 per year up to £3,750 annually after 5 years
The Role
You’ll be working across a broad range of mechanical and diagnostic tasks, including:
- Advanced diagnostics and fault finding (a.k.a. “why is this happening now?”)
- Mechanical repairs and servicing
- Tracking down intermittent faults that only appear when the customer is nearby
- High-quality repairs across a variety of makes and models
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is confident with diagnostics and mechanical repairs
- Enjoys fault finding without needing to “clear codes and hope”
- Has experience with prestige vehicles; JLR and German brand experience would be a strong advantage
- EV knowledge is beneficial, but curiosity and willingness to learn go just as far
The Workshop
This is a professional independent garage where standards are high, tools are decent, and comebacks are taken personally (in a professional way… mostly). The team takes pride in doing things properly, not just quickly. If you’re looking for a well-paid, stable role with a strong bonus structure, great team environment, and the option to pick up extra hours when it suits you, this could be a great fit. Apply today and let’s get you onto something a bit more rewarding than chasing intermittent ABS faults all day in your current place.
