Are you passionate about classic cars? We are working with a highly respected classic vehicle restoration workshop in Surrey to recruit a Classic Car Mechanic. This is a rare opportunity to work hands-on with some of the most iconic AC and Shelby Cobra models, alongside other vintage marques, in a workshop known for its exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Servicing and mechanical repairs of classic vehicles
  • Full restorations of rare and high-value models
  • Some race preparation work
  • Potential involvement in wiring, fabrication, and light welding

You\’ll be joining a small, dedicated team that prides itself on quality over quantity, working on projects that require skill, patience, and passion.

Ideal Candidate

  • Has solid, hands-on mechanical experience (classic car background highly desirable)
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail and takes pride in their work
  • Works well under pressure and as part of a collaborative team
  • Holds a full UK driving licence
  • Has a proactive, can-do attitude and a genuine love of classic vehicles

Additional skills (not essential but desirable):

  • Basic engineering knowledge
  • Experience in race prep, wiring, fabrication, or welding

Job Details

  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm
  • Salary: £36,000-£40,000 depending on experience
  • Holidays: 28 days including bank holidays (3-4 days held for Christmas closure)
  • Pension: Government pension scheme
  • Parking: On-site parking available
  • Note: This is a non-smoking workplace
