A well-established independent garage, proudly serving its local community for over 70 years, is looking for a reliable and qualified MOT Tester (Class 4) to join their small, skilled team.
With a dedicated MOT bay (pit-based) and a supportive, close-knit workshop of two technicians, this is a stable, long-term opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work and values being part of a trusted, locally respected business.
About the Role:
As an MOT Tester, your primary responsibility will be to carry out Class 4 MOTs in a clean, organised, and well-equipped test lane. You’ll also assist with light servicing when required and have the opportunity to get involved in more technical repairs if you have the interest or background.
• Conduct Class 4 MOT tests to DVSA standards
• Identify and advise on vehicle faults
• Complete associated paperwork accurately and on time
• Light servicing and general workshop duties as needed
• Work independently and as part of a small, efficient team
What You’ll Need:
• Valid Class 4 MOT testing licence
• Experience with light vehicle servicing
• A full UK driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points
• Strong attention to detail and pride in your work
• Friendly, reliable and team-oriented approach
• More technical repair experience is a bonus, not essential
Salary & Benefits:
• £35,000 – £40,000 basic salary, depending on experience
• £200/month bonus
• Free MOT each year for personal vehicle
• Christmas shutdown

• Occasional overtime (Saturdays, paid at flat rate)
• Ongoing MOT refresher training
• 20 days’ holiday + bank holidays
