The Role: The Stockroom Manager is responsible for leading the back‑of‑house team to ensure operational excellence, stock integrity, and efficient support for front‑of‑house sales. This role is pivotal in driving stockroom standards, improving efficiencies, and ensuring the layout and processes directly contribute to store revenue. The Stockroom Manager works collaboratively with the service team and supports the Assistant Manager in maintaining a high‑performing, well‑organised, and secure stockroom environment.
Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll be doing:
- Responsible for leading and managing the back‑of‑house team, ensuring stockroom operations are executed with pace, efficiency, and accuracy, while holding direct line management responsibility for Stockroom Assistants.
- Driving operational standards and continuous improvement in stockroom processes and layout.
- Ensuring the stockroom layout supports commercial goals and contributes to store revenue.
- Managing stock files, resolving discrepancies, and driving improvements in stock integrity.
- Monitoring and resolving negative stock issues and ensuring accurate inventory records.
- Collaborating with the service team to ensure seamless replenishment and product availability.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and safety in the stockroom.
- Supporting training and development of stockroom team members to ensure operational excellence.
- Deputising for the Assistant Manager in their absence, overseeing all back‑of‑house operations.
- Identifying opportunities to improve stockroom performance and communicating them to management.
- Ensuring compliance with security procedures and maintaining awareness of loss prevention measures.
