The Opportunity:

Ashurst Perkins Coie has identified technology as one of three critical sectors at the centre of the firm's global strategy and continues to invest significantly in building out the Technology Transactions practice in London. The digital infrastructure team is a sub-group of Tech Transactions and the team is looking to position itself at the forefront of the new digital age, advising both new and traditional players in the digital infrastructure sector. We are looking for a senior associate to join the digital infrastructure team and play a key role in the development of the team. This represents an exciting opportunity to be part of a developing, strategic practice in a firm that is putting strategic and financial backing behind its growth.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

• Lead on projects;
• Develop and lead client relationships with both existing and new clients;
• Develop more junior members of the team;
• Work with colleagues in other practice areas and offices;
• Play a key role in developing thought leadership, including through presenting at seminars and conferences and issuing think-pieces on cutting edge technology issues;

This is a full-time, permanent position based in our London office with hybrid working.

Essential skills and experience:

The successful candidate is likely to:

• Have relevant post qualification experience
• Have private practice experience with a leading TMT team, possibly augmented with relevant in-house experience;
• Strong experience advising on digital infrastructure projects together with supporting M&A and financing of digital infrastructure assets;
• Experience working across the digital infrastructure and in particular data centres (such as colocation, services agreement, BTS and SLAs), fibre, mobile and subsea telecoms regulatory experience and experience working on satellite matters is desirable but not essential.

From time to time, secondment opportunities also come up within other Ashurst Perkins Coie offices in Europe, North America, Asia and Australia. We expect client secondments to be less of a focus for this role, as the candidate will be one of the more senior members of our group and so playing a key role in supporting the partners to develop the practice.
