The Ashurst Markets & Growth (M&G) team is located in major cities across EMEA, Asia Pacific and the US. We execute the firm’s strategy and drive profitable growth with a specific focus on our chosen industries, markets and clients. We focus on industry solutions and client experience, driving campaigns, leveraging client insights, and managing strategic initiatives to service our client’s needs.

The Technology and Digital Economy and Technology (DET) space is a key growth area for the firm and a priority in the 2027 Strategic plan. This is a key role in the M&G team, supporting collaboration, growth and client engagement with respect to strategically important focus areas for Ashurst’s Corporate team. Reporting into the Regional Director, the individual will work closely with key partners to develop, define and execute the DET and Tech strategy.

The position requires close collaboration with other M&G teams and the broader Clients, Markets and Growth function to bring a comprehensive "whole of firm" approach to our clients. This position also line manages and develops one Executive. This is a parental leave cover 14 month FTC.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Work with Industry Leads and Practice Heads on business planning across the Tech and DET areas, specifically developing the strategy to maximise opportunities to grow revenue in line with the firm’s strategic plan.
  • Develop and lead market facing initiatives to meet the strategic plan goals, evaluating progress on implementation.
  • Manage and support the entire opportunity pursuit process, including identifying opportunities, managing opportunity tracking processes, preparing client-focused sales strategies and coordinating partners around pipelines and strategic pursuits (including go/no go), working closely with the Global Bids & Pursuits team on major pitches/panels.
  • Act in a client facing capacity and develop relationships with key contacts at the designated clients.
  • Build and leverage relationships with key market players and associations to increase market penetration, monitoring ROI.

This is a full-time, 14 month FTC role based in our London office with hybrid working.

About you

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience in a professional services / Industry Business Development environment.
  • Demonstrated experience for both coaching teams and managing major projects and/or initiatives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build trusting relationships with the partnership and business services.
  • Commercial awareness and an innovative mind-set for developing and evolving ways of working.
  • Enthusiastic and proactive, with the ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple projects and activities.
