Overview
As an Associate in the SSTAR finance practice, you support complex structured finance transactions across asset classes, working closely with London partners. You’ll draft and negotiate essential security and financing documents while contributing to business development and client relationships. The role blends legal technical excellence with commercial awareness, offering exposure to a variety of clients and structures. You’ll operate within a collaborative and ambitious team, driving transaction success and growth.

Responsibilities
- Draft and negotiate security documents and related ancillary agreements
- Lead or contribute to intercreditor arrangements and facilities/debt instruments as needed
- Support the full lifecycle of financing transactions from structuring to closing and post-closing
- Engage in transaction management to ensure smooth deal execution
- Contribute to business development through know-how, market updates, and networks
- Collaborate with corporate, restructuring, banking, financial regulatory and tax teams
- Work with sponsors, debt investors, specialty finance corporates, banks and others
- Support new structures and leverage team and partner expertise across transactions
Key requirements
- Experience advising on structured finance transactions and securitisations (preferred)
- Proactive and capable of owning clients, workstreams, and processes
- Experience drafting increasingly complex documents
- Strong organisational and transaction management skills
- Adaptable with excellent client relationship abilities and business development inclination
- Growing confidence in commercial negotiations with counterparties
