The Opportunity:

Ashurst has recently announced its intention to merge with US firm Perkins Coie. The merger will lead to a significant increase in complexity of the combined firm's partner payment arrangements so the Partner Finances team is restructuring to create this new role to support the implementation and future operation of a new Partner Remuneration Reporting tool.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake a partner remuneration data cleansing exercise including reconciliations of all partner profit and capital related balances held in the financial systems to statements issued to partners.
  • Review the global balance sheet, by office, in respect of all partner related balances and reconcile the Ashurst Australia business annual profit clearing to the partner profit balances.
  • Document the local office processes in respect of all partner related postings.
  • Assist with any direct testing of the new Partner Remuneration Reporting tool and assist with any parallel running implementations in respect of the new tool.
  • Utilise the new tool to accurately record, manipulate and report on all partner remuneration data for the purposes of monthly management accounts, regular reporting to partners and to respond to ad-hoc management requests.

This is a full-time, permanent position operating out of Ashurst's Glasgow office with hybrid working.

About you:

The successful candidate will:

  • Have minimum of 5 years accounting experience.
  • Be a part or fully qualified accountant.
  • Have Advanced Excel knowledge.
  • Have experience working within a professional services environment (desired).
  • Experience of Thomson Reuters 3E accounting system (desired) and/or experience of Cognos TM1 analytics tool (desired).
  • Have experience dealing with multiple currencies including GBP, Euro, AUD and USD.
  • Be adaptable, have a problem solving nature and thrive in a changing environment.
