This modelrecognizes that an effective expertise function at a firm of AshurstPerkins Coie's scale requires expertise partners and expertise lawyerswho are embedded in practice groups, close to the work and deeplyconnected to their teams, together with central leadership,coordination and support, to ensure strategic alignment, quality andconsistency across the firm.About you:The Regional Director will lead theelevation of the firm's expertise function, in close collaborationwith their APAC counterpart, building on recent work which hasstrengthened the expertise lawyer role and improved expertise coverageacross priority jurisdictions and practices.Key objectives of the role include:establishing a global, integrated approach to expertise for ournewly combined firm;ensuring the expertise function evolves to respond to emergingareas of law and practice and to address the opportunities andchallenges presented by AI, automation and changing business needs;embedding the Ashurst Perkins Coie combination by drivingconsistency and excellence in legal services firmwide, leveragingthe full breadth of the firm's expertise to support our combinedfirm ambitions; andleading the central regional expertise team (currently four directreports), inspiring and overseeing their performance and deliverables.The Regional Director will join theK&E SLT, reporting to the Executive Director for Knowledge &Expertise and working closely with the other K&E Directors and theK&E Steerco to lead, shape and deliver the firm's global Knowledge& Expertise strategyThe successful candidate will:A senior lawyer with deep technicalexpertise, practice experience and at least 10 years'post-qualification experience in a legal role.At least 5 years' experience as anexpertise lawyer (or equivalent PSL role) and further experience ina leadership role within a Knowledge & Expertise (or equivalent)function in a leading international law firm, professional servicesfirm or legal department OR equivalent partner-level experience.Proven leadership capability, with atrack record of inspiring, motivating and developing high-performingteams in a professional services environment.Sufficient standing and experience tolead and line manage senior expertise employees and to advise andcollaborate with senior management, expertise partners and othersenior stakeholders.Ability to manage networks, influencesenior stakeholders and bring a reflective, strategic, globalperspective to planning and discussions.More information can be found in the job description attached tothe role on our careers site Careers | Ashurst Perkins Coie#LI-HYBRID #LI-GD1
