The Opportunity
Our Bids & Pursuits team are enthusiastic and passionate business development professionals, united by a common goal: to ensure we deliver excellence in winning work and generating profitable business for the firm.
You will be an integral part of the Bids & Pursuits team, supporting the development of best practice bids in collaboration with the wider Business Development team, partners, clients and other stakeholders.
Working directly with partners and key stakeholders across practice, industry and business services you will support the end to end development of high quality, distinctive and compelling client-centred bids and pursuits.
This role will work closely with our strategic focus industries and practices, reporting to the Regional Head of Pursuits.
As part of our commitment to driving bid excellence and supporting the professional development of our team, we are a Corporate member of APMP.
This is a full-time, permanent role based in our London office with hybrid working.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with fee-earners, BD team members, and other stakeholders to define the bid strategy with a clear value proposition and win themes for all bids.
- Manage end to end process for bids and pursuits from qualification to submissions, presentations and aftercare, including content management.
- Champion Ashurst Perkins Coie's global bid & pursuit methodology, drive best practice and continuous improvement across pursuits and bids.
- Lead the writing, reviewing, proof reading and amendment support to drafted content, for improved internal compliance.
- Collaborate with all teams across CMG to share and promote best practice across bids & pursuits.
- Analyse bid and pursuit reporting, statistics, feedback and outcomes to support continuous improvement of overall quality, win rates, activity and spot to trends.
Qualifications
- 3+ years' experience in a pursuit and bid role in legal, professional services or other relevant environments with a proven track record of winning strategic bids.
- Experience of proposal writing and collaborating with SME stakeholders and other teams to deliver against pursuit requirements.
- Experience supporting bid teams throughout the bid lifecycle, including critical meetings, presentations and commercial negotiations.
- Strong work-winning process knowledge, writing and project management skills; able to transform technical information into clear, compelling, succinct content for proposals to various audience types.
- Ability to identify and client requirements and articulate benefits and win themes.
- Excellent organisational skills; ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously, work to timescales and deadlines set by clients.
