The Opportunity: Our Bids & Pursuits team are enthusiastic and passionate business development professionals, unified by a common goal: to ensure we deliver excellence in winning work and generating profitable business for the firm. You will be an integral part of the Bids & Pursuits team, supporting the development of best practice bids and strategic pursuits in collaboration with the wider Clients, Markets and Growth (CMG) team, partners, clients and other stakeholders. Working directly with partners and key stakeholders across practice, industry and business services you will support the end-to-end development of high-quality, distinctive and compelling client-centric bids and pursuits. This role will be aligned with and directly support Ashurst's NewLaw and risk consulting divisions – Ashurst Advance & Ashurst Risk Advisory – alongside the firm's Technology Industry and Digital Economy group, reporting to the Regional Head of Pursuits. You will be working closely with our London-based Markets & Growth leads for these areas, and be supported by the broader Bids & Pursuits team. As part of our commitment to driving bid excellence and supporting the professional development of our team, we are a Corporate member of APMP.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Support and lead the bid and pursuit process for Ashurst Advance, Ashurst Risk Advisory, Technology Industry, and/or Digital Economy-focused bids to ensure best practice responses are developed for individual client requirements.
  • Manage the end-to-end process for strategic bids and pursuits from qualification to submissions, presentations and aftercare, including content management.
  • Work with fee-earners and CMG colleagues to define the pursuit strategy with clear win themes for strategic opportunities.
  • Support pursuit-specific client research, stakeholder briefings and reports on major and complex opportunities.
  • Lead the writing, reviewing, proof reading and amendment support to drafted content, for improved internal compliance.

About you:

  • 5+ years' experience in a pursuit and bid role in legal, professional services, or other relevant environments with a proven track record of winning strategic bids. Candidates with bids experience in accounting and/or consulting firms are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Experience of proposal writing and collaborating with SME stakeholders and other teams to deliver against pursuit requirements.
  • A keen interest and passion for NewLaw / Alternative Legal Services (ALS), Risk Consulting, the Technology Industry, and/or Digital Economy service lines and focus areas. Whilst previous experience in these areas is not necessary, candidates should demonstrate a desire to learn and upskill in these knowledge domains.
  • Experience supporting bid teams throughout the bid lifecycle, including kick-off and client-facing meetings, presentations, commercial negotiations, and post-bid debriefs.
  • Strong work-winning process knowledge, writing and project management skills; able to transform technical information into clear, compelling, succinct content for proposals to various audience types.
