We are looking for a French‑speaking Paralegal to join us in providing support to our fee earners in the French Legal team, while managing your own caseload.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Drafting legal documentation, including wills and legal opinions
  • Taking responsibility for the day‑to‑day running of appropriate property‑related matters
  • Chasing / liaising with clients and other parties, such as estate agents, for key information when necessary
  • Handling client queries and arranging appointments as appropriate
  • Assisting with report writing related to properties for clients
  • Preparing forms and paperwork as needed
  • Maintaining direct contact with clients and other lawyers via face‑to‑face meetings, telephone calls, emails, and letters
  • Using legal knowledge to take instructions from clients and give reasoned advice tailored to their needs
  • Handling new enquiries from potential clients
  • Maintaining an efficient diary system using Outlook / case‑management system and highlighting milestone dates
  • Updating to‑do lists daily and notifying fee earners
  • Using initiative to progress matters as appropriate
  • Organising instructions and managing case workflow
  • Providing other casework assistance as requested
  • Discussing issues within the team to foster development

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required

  • High level of fluency in spoken and written French and English
  • Experience with French law and English law preferred
  • Excellent communication skills (telephone or face‑to‑face with internal and external clients)
  • Ability to explain legal concepts to clients clearly
  • Strong organisational and time‑management skills
  • Strong team‑playing ability
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach
  • Courteous and efficient telephone manner
  • Well‑developed interpersonal skills and empathy toward clients
  • Flexible approach, working with others when necessary
