Ashton Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a well‑established and highly reputable construction and maintenance contractor based in Warrenpoint.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to take the lead on commercial management, cost planning and financial control across a range of capital works projects. The successful candidate will support the delivery of high‑quality outcomes, ensure strong commercial performance while managing risk, site abnormalities and stakeholder expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Manage all commercial aspects of contracts from tender stage through to final account
- Prepare, monitor and control project budgets, forecasts and cashflows
- Lead the preparation and submission of valuations, variations and claims
- Administer contracts and ensure full compliance with contract terms and requirements
- Provide accurate and timely commercial reporting to senior management and clients
- Negotiate with clients, subcontractors and suppliers to secure favourable commercial terms
- Manage subcontractor procurement, payments and performance evaluations
- Support compliance with relevant housing regulations, health & safety standards and sustainability requirements
- Work collaboratively with operational, design and client teams to ensure successful project delivery
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field (RICS accreditation preferred)
- Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within maintenance, refurbishment or new build environments
- Experience working on education sector projects is highly desirable
- Strong working knowledge of NEC forms of contract
- Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills
- High level of commercial and financial awareness
- Strong IT skills including cost management software and MS Office
- Ability to lead teams and mentor junior staff
- Valid CSR Card or formal Health & Safety training
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Minimum 5 years' experience within the construction industry
