Ashton Recruitment require a Sales Development Executive for our client based in Belfast.
Location: West Belfast
Duration: Permanent
Hours of work: Monday - Friday 04:00-13:00 with Alternative Saturdays 04:00-10:30
Pay Rate: £25,000 - £33,000
Duties will include:
- Proactively managed a portfolio of existing customers, regularly engaging with them to understand their evolving needs and identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
- Implemented tailored sales strategies to increase customer loyalty, expand product range penetration, and maximise revenue from each account.
- Conducted detailed analysis of weekly sales data and account profitability to track performance against targets.
- Identified underperforming accounts and developed action plans to improve sales outcomes.
- Collaborated with finance and operations teams to ensure pricing strategies maintained healthy margins while remaining competitive.
- Established strong, trust-based relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within customer organisations.
- Delivered excellent customer service by responding promptly to enquiries and resolving issues effectively, fostering long-term partnerships that supported business growth and repeat sales.
- Acted as the primary liaison between customers and internal departments, managing product queries, order statuses, and delivery schedules with accuracy and professionalism.
- Coordinated with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfilment, providing customers with regular updates to maintain satisfaction.
- Conducted regular face-to-face visits to customers and suppliers within the assigned territory to strengthen relationships and gain first-hand insights into market trends and customer needs.
- Used these visits to showcase new products, negotiate terms, address concerns, and identify potential areas for collaboration and growth.
Essential Criteria:
- Minimum 5 years FMCG sales experience (within last 10 years)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven track record of growing customer base and profit margins
- Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics
- Proficient in MS Office and confident with presentations
- Analytical, commercial mindset with a focus on process improvement
- Well organised, able to work independently and in a team
- Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines
- Quick learner with confidence in all aspects of the role

- Be self-motivated, reliable and have drive, commitment and energy
- Have strong diagnostic and problem solving skills
- Be a self-starter with a desire to improve all aspects of the Wholesale business
- Have experience in the Fresh Produce industry
