Ashton Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting for an Account Manager on behalf of our client, a well-established and growing organisation operating within the parcel, logistics, and distribution sector.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Account Manager, Business Development Executive, or Customer Relationship professional who has worked within the parcel, courier, freight, or wider logistics industry and understands the fast-paced nature of customer service, operational delivery, and account growth within this sector.

Our client is keen to speak with candidates who come from a parcel or logistics background, with experience managing commercial customer relationships, driving account growth, and working closely with operational teams to deliver high service standards.

The successful candidate will manage an established portfolio of customers across Northern Ireland, ensuring strong client retention, identifying growth opportunities, and supporting overall commercial performance.

The Role

The successful candidate will act as the main point of contact for a portfolio of clients, building strong long-term relationships while ensuring customer satisfaction, service delivery, and commercial targets are achieved. You will work closely with internal operational teams and customers to identify improvements, resolve issues, support account development, and maximise opportunities for growth across the business.

Duties Will Include (but not limited to):

  • Managing and developing an assigned portfolio of customer accounts
  • Building strong working relationships with key customer contacts
  • Identifying opportunities to increase revenue and grow existing accounts
  • Working closely with internal operational teams to ensure service delivery standards are met
  • Conducting regular customer meetings, reviews, and performance discussions
  • Supporting contract renewals and pricing reviews
  • Monitoring customer performance, trends, and commercial activity
  • Providing accurate forecasts and account updates to management
  • Handling customer queries and resolving issues in a professional and timely manner
  • Supporting wider business growth through cross-selling additional services
  • Maintaining strong awareness of industry developments and competitor activity

Essential Criteria

  • Previous experience within the parcel, courier, logistics, freight, or distribution industry
  • Experience managing customer accounts or business relationships
  • Strong commercial awareness and customer service skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Confident presenting and communicating with stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience within account management, business development, or client services
  • Experience working with operational or service-based KPIs
  • Knowledge of the wider logistics or delivery marketplace
